I went to a temporary public art exhibition on Saturday at Central Park’s heritage brewery yard at Chippendale (just off Broadway), Sydney.
Brook Andrew’s art ‘Local Memory’ was the first to take over the heritage Brewery Yard.
Featuring a series of black and white portraits of people who worked in the brewery or were associated with it. There are 18 portraits in total on the weathered exterior of the old Irving Street Brewery building.
Each portrait is around 3 metres high.
There is an eerie, but beautiful presence, looking at the portraits of all these people, that once were apart of the local history of the Chippendale area.
It is a free exhibition.
